Yapak: Adamawa lawmaker reinstates commitment to robust and effective representation

The member representing Verre constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly Hon. Abdullah Umar Yapak have promised to continually strive to attract dividends of democracy to his constituency in particular, Fufore LG and Adamawa State at large through robust and effective representation.

Abdullahi Yapak made this known in an interview with the state House correspondents in his office at the State Assembly Complex in Yola.

He said his concern is to ensure that, People of his constituency feels the impact of giving him another mandate to represent them for second term.

Yapak who is the Chairman House standing committee on Interpaliamentary Affairs, labour and productivity said he will continue to work with relevant stakeholders aimed at guaranteeing peace, security and welfare of his people through effective legislation and oversight.

He added that he is ready to welcome ideas that will assist him in improving the quality of life of his people
explaining that in spite of the prevailing economic uncertainties, he has been able to record some achievements in the areas of infrastructure, improving the welfare of people and human capital development in the constituency.

While highlightening some the achievements he recorded during his first tenure in office, the lawmaker said besides the constituency Office, he had embarked on other projects which include, provision of Constituency Office for his people to channel their problems, skills acquisition center to train Youth and women on various skills of their choice.

The lawmaker also provided other slides of his various empowerment programmes, ranging from provision of over 30 commercial vehicles to reduce hardship being faced by his people, grinding and sewing machines, motorcycles to provision solar powered and drilled bore holes, hand dug wells in hard to reach areas, Electrification and reconnecting of some communities with national grid.

On educational sector hon. Yapak said apart from facilitation and renovation he constructed new blocks of classrooms and offices, coppers lodge, engaging about fifty extra teachers with monthly stipend and scholarship scheme to secondary and tertiary institution students within and outside the state, and provision of inputs to farmers, among other employment opportunities
