The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Taraba state Command has nabbed suspected notoriuos criminal,Umar Buba who specialized in cattle rustling along with three others.
State Commandant Alhaji Isah Ado Kamilu disclosed this shortly after parading the suspects to newsmen at the NSCDC state command in Jalingo, the state capital.
He said the suspects were arrested by his men with the support of some members of the public as well as members of the Vigilante group within and outside the state capital, which he said was a great achievement to the command and the society at large.
The NSCDC Boss who is also the Ajiyan Makaman Kano described the issue of security as everybody’s business, therefore he stressed the need for all hands to be on deck in the fight against crimes and urged members of the general public to always monitor the movement of strangers in their societies.
Ajiyan Makaman Kano Alhaji Isah Kamilu however restated the command’s commitment towards protecting both government and public properties as well curbing criminal activities across the state, pointing out that his men are always on survelance.
Responding to questions from Journalists, a suspected gang leader Umar Buba thirty seven year old a resident of Mayo-dasa area of Jalingo local government area who specialized in cattle rustling, confirmed that he was the one that sent his boys and stoled some caws from Mallun along Jalingo/Takum road while they were apprehended by the security.
Another suspect Usman Buba who is also a brother to Umar told newsmen that this was his first attempt of being sent by his brother to go and stoled cows, while he advised others to desist from venturing themselves into criminal acts that could tarnish their image or even lead to their death.
Another suspected cattle rustler one Mr. Peter who was using Keke napep to carriy out criminal activities said, that they have a gang but he was arrested with some goats while his members were able to escaped, adding that the owner of the (KEKE NAPEP) was not aware that he was using it for stilling goats among other criminal acts.
