A member House of the Representatives representing Bungudu/Maru Federal constituency in Zamfara State, Abdul Malik Zubairu has sponsored the wedding of 105 orphans.
In an elaborate ceremony at the weekend at Bungudu town, the headquarters of Bungudu Local Government Area, the orphans were mostly children of banditry victims.
The lawmaker however provided full beddings and working materials for the brides.
In his speech, Chairman of the occasion, Sen. Kawu Sumaila lauded the lawmaker for supporting the marriage of the less privileged persons in society.
“This is an act of promoting morality in the society by supporting marriage, preventing them from involving in illicit act”, he added.
Sumaila a Senator representing Kano South, called for more to the vulnerable and less privileged persons in society, especially, in promoting morality.
Sen. Sumaila gave a token fee of N20,000 to each bride and groom.
