As preparations intensify for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s official visit to Adamawa State on Monday, February 16, 2026, prominent traditional leader Alhaji Iliyasu Ma’azu, the Zannan Jimeta and Sadukin Daulan Adamawa, has extended a royal welcome to the President and urged residents to turn out in large numbers.

In a statement ahead of the visit, Alhaji Ma’azu expressed heartfelt appreciation to President Tinubu for his planned trip to the “land of beauty,” where he is scheduled to commission several key infrastructure projects executed under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The visit comes as a significant endorsement of the state’s developmental efforts, with the President expected to inaugurate projects spanning roads, education, justice, and governance sectors.
”The President’s gesture in visiting Adamawa to commission these landmark projects is a testament to the progress being made,” Alhaji Ma’azu said. He highlighted the importance of the occasion, describing it as an opportunity to showcase the state’s hospitality and unity.
The Zannan Jimeta called on all residents of Adamawa State regardless of background or affiliation to come out en masse to receive President Tinubu with the renowned warmth, respect, and good hospitality for which the people of Adamawa are known.
“Let us demonstrate our appreciation through peaceful and enthusiastic participation,” he appealed.
The one-day visit includes inaugurations such as the eight-lane Galadima Aminu Road linking Gimba to the state capital, an underpass at the former Bekaji Roundabout, the expanded Bank Road in Yola, model schools, the ultra-modern High Court Complex, a new NYSC permanent orientation camp groundbreaking in Malkohi, and facilities at Government House, among others. President Tinubu will also interact with top government officials and traditional rulers during the engagement.
State officials, including the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, have described the presidential visit as validation of Governor Fintiri’s strides in infrastructure and public service delivery. Arrangements for a grand reception are already in high gear across Yola and Jimeta.
Alhaji Iliyasu Ma’azu’s call aligns with broader excitement in the state, as Adamawa prepares to host the President in what promises to be a memorable display of unity and development celebration.
