The Management of Zenith Bank has donated 10 operational vehicles for the State government of Adamawa state under the leadership of Sen Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow to cob up menance of insecurity in the state.
The Branch Manager of the Bank in Yola,Alhaji Hassan Abdulsalam led a delegation of its members in a courtesy call in government House in Yola.
According to the Hassan the gesture is to help in checkmating incessant crime and to arm the security agencies in the state to be proactive before and during the forth coming 2019.
He further said that the bank has also embarked on rehabilitation of three skills acquisition centers in Mubi, Demsa and Mayo Belwa local government areas of the state.
Also during the wednesday council meeting about twenty two point nine million naira is required for immediate need to check further spread of cholera, which has claimed twenty six lives in three local government areas of Adamawa.
Director of Disease Control in Primary Health Care Development Agency, Doctor Amos Ujulu stated this during a presentation on cholera outbreak during state executive council meeting presided over by Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla at the council chamber of government house in Yola.
He explained that one thousand five hundred and sixty four cases have been recorded in Maiha, Mubi North and South, which also spread to part of Cameroon.
He urged disclosed that twelve other international partners that have rendered intervention, will withdraw by next week and urged state government to render greater commitment to end the cholera outbreak as the cholera is spreading to other local government areas.
A World Bank group led by Professor Murtala Sagagi presented a package that will create job and investment opportunities in the agricultural sector in Adamawa state.
To this end, a nine man committee have been put in place to meet with the world bank group and report back to council in two weeks time.
The state executive council has also received a volley ball team from General Murtala Mohammed College that has came first position in recently held Nestle School sports and won medals.
The team members were decorated with their medals by the governor while the sum of five point three million was contributed to the team to encourage them.
The state executive council meeting also received the newly posted state comptroller of immigration, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ado Musa, who appealed for provision of patrol vans as well as solicited working collaboration with the state government to check influx of migrants into the state.
Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla was also been briefed on National productivity awarded by the presidency to secretary to state government, Doctor Umar Buba Bindir recently.
