The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Barr. Boss Mustapha was honoured yesterday in Lagos with the prestigious Zik Award in “Political Leadership and Public Service Category” as the “Best Administrator of the Year”
The award was presented to the SGF by the Public Policy Research and Analysis Centre (PPRAC), during an elaborate ceremony at the Civic Centre, of Victoria Island, Lagos State on Sunday, December 6, 2020 which starts by 6.00pm
With retrospect, this year’s annual event also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Zik Prize series and was chaired by the Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, while the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe served as the royal father of the day.
The SGF, Barr. Boss Mustapha and other prominent personalities were the recipients of some awards; who emerged in different categories of the Zik Awards, after careful selection through a rigorous and meticulous process for their notable contributions to national development, said Prof. Jubril Aminu the Chairman of the PPRAC said during the grand award ceremony.
The SGF was described by the organisers of the occasion as “a square peg in a square hole”, SGF Boss through dint of hardwork, dedication and loyalty to Nigerian people has adequately brought synergy and efficiency in all the inter ministerial agencies and departments, through a robust administrative handling style and the recent Ministerial Retreat for adequate performance monitoring and SWOT analysis.
Most importantly in the administrative management and containment of the novel COVID-19 which the SGF sit as the Presidential Taskforce Chairman the PPRAC observed.
Consequently, according to records, Zik Prize center was set up in 1994 in honour of the first President of Nigeria, late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, with a view to encouraging and nurturing quality leadership in Africa and in the diaspora.
This auspicious event literally puts the SGF, Barr. Boss Mustapha popularly known as Mr. Synergy in the prestigious category of eminent intra-continental figures honoured by the foundation, like late former President of Ghana, Jerry Rawligs (1995); Late President Nelson Mandela, President Yonweri Muzeveni of Uganda and former Chairman of NCC’s Governing Board, Alhaji Ahmed Joda who was the Chairman of the Transition Committee of the Muhammadu Buhari’s first tenure administration.
Among this year’s awardees, however, are the Senate President, Dr. Ahmed Lawal, the SGF, Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, his counterparts from Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Oyo State Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, who bagged the award also for good governance.
A statement by Boss Mustapha Media advocate head leader, Comrade Musa Terang said the Forum of the SGF’s well wishers, Advocates and other well meaning Nigerians wishes to celebrate with him and to also congratulate him on such honor, award and the milestone recorded.
